Russian courts have fined the Russian journalist who disrupted state-TV news bulletins and condemned war in Ukraine with 30,000 rubles ($280).
Marina Ovsyannikova was an editor of Russian-owned Channel One. She walked onto the live news broadcast on Monday night, carrying a protest sign and shouting “stop this war!”
The journalist was quickly put at risk by concerns after her lawyer for human rights stated that she had not heard from her in several hours. On Tuesday, however, Ovsyannikova was photographed with her lawyer.
Ovsyannikova was ordered to pay the fine following a court hearing Tuesday, Russian news agency RIA reported.
