LONDON, (Reuters) – Russia claimed Tuesday that it placed U.S. President Joe Biden and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on a “stoplist” which bars them from entering Russia.

The list also included former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and CIA Chief William Burns.

This ban came in response to Washington’s sanctions against Russian officials. Trudeau was later added to the sanctioned list by Canada’s foreign ministry.

These measures were merely symbolic. The Foreign Ministry stated that it would maintain official relations with all parties and, if required, make arrangements for high-level contact between the Foreign Ministry and the individuals on the List.
