Joe Biden, the President of the United States, announced Wednesday that $800million will be spent by the United States on humanitarian and military aid to Ukraine. The approval was made this week. Biden also pledged to do more for Ukraine in the weeks and days ahead as it fights Russian invaders.

These funds will be used to purchase 800 anti-aircraft equipment, 9,000 antimor system, and 7,000 small arm machine guns.

Biden on Tuesday signed a $1.5 trillion government spending packageThis money was used to provide humanitarian and military aid for the country that had spent almost three weeks resisting a Russian invasion.

U.S. plans to support the over 3 million Ukrainians who were displaced during the conflict and to reinforce the nation’s defenses against Russian forces trying to enter Kyiv.

Biden stated, “May God Protect the Ukrainians Who are Out There Defending Their Country,” in comments detailing his assistance that he gave at the White House.

Biden was instrumental in leading international efforts to stop Russia’s economic growth as a result of the attack on Ukraine. According to Biden, he is opposed to sending troops and offensive weapons into Ukraine. This could lead the conflict in Ukraine to become a global war.

Zelenskyy, a Kyiv resident, asked for the U.S. permission to create a no-fly area over Ukraine, sanctions Russian politicians, and close down Russian business operations.

NATO Allies and the U.S. have refused to allow a no-fly zone, fearing that it might bring them into conflict directly with Russian forces.
