U.S. appeals court temporarily restores Biden measure for calculating climate risks -Breaking

(Reuters] – In the meantime, a federal appeals court granted the Biden Administration permission to keep using Obama-era value for calculating the climate change cost in government decisions.

U.S. Court of Appeals of the Fifth Circuit allowed the government to request a temporary injunction that was imposed in February by a lower federal court judge. This ruling temporarily stopped the administration’s use of a price of $50 per ton for the “social cost” of greenhouse gasses. It was a significant increase on the $10 per ton that the Trump administration imposed.
