Airbus interested in taking over Atos’s cybersecurity business

PARIS (Reuters – European conglomerate Airbus, a defence and aerospace company, is keen to acquire the cybersecurity division of French software giant Atos. France’s BFM TV reported on Thursday, citing people with direct knowledge.

Airbus has not yet responded to Reuters’s request for comment.

BFM cited one source who said that Airbus was looking at a possible acquisition of Atos in recent weeks. This was due to its interest in cybersecurity. However, it added that no takeover is in the offing.

BFM quoted one source saying that Guillaume Faury, CEO of Airbus, believes this topic (Atos), is too complex given Airbus’s interest.

According to the report, the group decided not to buy Atos in its entirety as it was not interested in buying the French company’s other businesses.
