Hunter Biden criminal investigation gets testimony, records

Clint Lancaster, Lunden Alexis Roberts’ attorney, said that Hunter had previously given “a substantial amount of Hunter’s financial records” in order to comply with an subpoena.
Lancaster said that he and Roberts were interviewed by an assistant U.S. attorney, an FBI agent and an IRS agent — “one that carries a badge and gun” — more than a year ago about Biden in Little Rock, Ark., where Lancaster practices.
Biden was said to have stated, “I expect him be indicted,” by the lawyer.
His statement was based solely on his financial records. He added that it would surprise him if he wasn’t arrested.
Lancaster stated that, despite this expectation, he and Roberts still “want Hunter not to go to prison.”
Lancaster, who was an ally of the former President, said that “it’s not mine goal” Donald TrumpWho in late 2020 who worked on a legal challenge to results that showed Biden had won the state of Wisconsin that year.
Lancaster replied, “No, not yet.”

The White House did not comment on this case or Lancaster’s assertion that Hunter Biden and President Biden have never seen Hunter’s daughter with Roberts.
Lancaster replied, “Oh hell, it wasn’t a lot,” when asked to count the records related to Hunter Biden’s finances. These documents are part of the Arkansas child support case Roberts brought against Biden in 2019. It was filed in relation to their daughter.
Lancaster stated that they are all electronic. I would say it contained between 10 to 20 gigabytes of data.
Biden said, “I saw lots of information that was problematic.”
Lancaster added that he was not making statements regarding what tax records contained, and whether or not he paid taxes.

On the heels of an earlier hearing, the lawyer spoke. New York Times article which reported that Hunter Biden in recent monthsAn associate told him he had paid more than $1million in federal taxes to cover the tax liability. This is just one aspect of an investigation being conducted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Delaware. Delaware is the home state of the Biden family.
The Times reported that the investigation began with a criminal probe of possible violations of tax laws. However, questions have since been raised about whether Hunter Biden has violated money laundering and foreign lobbying laws.
According to the newspaper, an anonymous source said that Roberts, aged 30, was interrogated by Arkansas investigators about payments she received from Burisma, a Ukrainian-owned energy company, one year before her death.
From April 2014 to April 2019, Burisma spent approximately $50,000 per month on Biden. As his father became more popular, he resigned from the board of directors.
Roberts filed a child support case against Biden. He claimed that she received money from a company he controlled from May 2018 to November 2018.
According to a court record, “She did not receive tax records for these payments,”
Biden settled the case in January 2020 after agreeing to pay an undisclosed amount of monthly child support to Roberts. The retroactive effect was made effective November 2018, three months following the daughter’s birth.
Lancaster stated Thursday that Roberts had traveled from the United States to Wilmington in February to give evidence to a grand jury there in order to fulfill a subpoena.

CNBC reported that Roberts was not granted immunity prior to giving her testimony.
Lancaster explained that Lancaster did not believe Lancaster had committed any crimes, and she therefore didn’t need to be immunized.
Roberts was asked by a prosecutor about her criminal history, but he said that he didn’t know.
Lancaster stated that Roberts was not allowed to provide details about Lancaster’s questioning by Little Rock federal investigators more than one year ago.
Lancaster refused to give investigators details about the records that he provided. Lancaster did however say that “I had my Burisma payroll records. I also had records about what Burisma actually paid into the United States.”
According to the attorney, he was first made aware of federal criminal investigations into Biden’s December 2020. Joe Biden had already won the popular presidential electoral vote just weeks prior, and Trump and his supporters still contested the results on several legal fronts.
Lancaster claimed that he was served with a subpoena by the federal government for Roberts’ case file regarding Roberts child support action. This happened “while I was working in Wisconsin on a legal challenge.”
Lancaster stated that the subpoena contained financial records requests.
He stated that he had notified Brent Langdon’s attorney in the paternity matter, Biden, within a few hours of receiving the subpoena.
Lancaster claimed that Biden had made public disclosures for the first times that he was subject to criminal investigation in relation to his tax affairs within hours after contacting Langdon on December 9, 2020.
Biden made the following statement: “I take this matter very serious, but I’m confident that a professional-objective review of these issues will prove that I managed my affairs legally.
Biden said in the statement that he was informed about the probe by his own lawyer, and had also been advised by the U.S. attorney’s office.
Five days prior to the Electoral College’s confirmation of his father’s victory as president, the statement was issued.
Roberts had previously sued Biden one year before, claiming that she had had her daughter in August 2018. He was involved in an affair with Hallie Biden (the widow of Beau Biden), at that time. In 2015, his elder brother Beau Biden, who was a former Delaware attorney-general, succumbed to brain cancer.
Roberts filed a paternity suit days after Biden had married Melissa Cohen (a South African film director), after only six days of knowing Cohen. Beau, a boy named Beau, was born in March 2020.
In court papers, Hunter Biden initially denied having ever sex in public with Roberts.
In his 2021 memoir entitled “Beautiful Things,” Biden detailed his serious addictions to cocaine and alcoholRoberts was a stranger to him, and he said he didn’t remember anything that lead to his interaction with Roberts.
Roberts stated in court papers, however that Roberts had confirmed his fatherhood by a blood test.
Court records show that Biden was not present at the hearing. Biden’s lawyers and Biden were also criticised by the judge because they did not provide sufficient financial information. Robert, who was attempting to claim support for their daughter against Robert’s argument that he had no funds at all, made the same point.
The judge threatened to hold Biden in contempt in January 2020 for failing to disclose financial information.Shortly thereafter, the case was resolved.
Trump was impeached in the House of Representatives in April 2017 for withholding almost $400 Million in congressionally authorized military assistance to Ukraine. He also requested that Volodymyr Zilenskyy announce an investigation into Joe Biden, Hunter Biden, and their connection to Hunter’s roles at Burisma.
When Trump made that request in 2019,Joe Biden was the leading candidate for 2020 Democratic presidential nomination.
Trump was found not guilty in his Senate impeachment trial.
