IMF says having ‘constructive’ talks with Pakistan as part of program review -Breaking

Officials from Pakistan have stated that they believe they will be able to address concerns raised by the IMF about an $1.5 billion subsidy for electricity.
Gerry Rice, spokesperson for the IMF, did not directly comment on Pakistan’s views about the subvention plans but stated that the current discussions were “constructive” to ensure Pakistan meets its core objectives of fiscal prudence and external sector viability (and), the protection of vulnerable populations from high food and energy prices.
