Investing.com — Boeing Co (NYSE:) is moving closer towards a “landmark” deal that would see Delta Air Lines Inc (NYSE:) order up to 100 of its 737 MAX 10 jets, Reuters reported on Friday.

Boeing shares trade 1% higher on Friday and Delta rises 1.6%

According to reports, Delta considered the 737 Max last September as it reshaped its fleet.

Reuters reported that sources claimed Boeing and Delta were working together to finalize details for a 100-aircraft order, many of which would be for the 737 MAX10. An announcement may be made as soon as next month if the two companies reach a settlement.

Delta and Boeing rival Airbus signed a memorandum to understand on Thursday. This agreement will allow them to work together in developing and researching a hydrogen powered aircraft.
