(Reuters) – Russia’s finance ministry said on Friday it had fulfilled its obligations to pay coupons on Eurobonds in dollar denomination due in 2023-2043. It also stated that Citibank has received the funds.

Russia would have to make $117 million in coupons payments to prove its ability and willingness to repay international debt. This was in response to sanctions imposed on Russia for events in Ukraine.
