REUTERS/May JAY(Reuters) – IWG office rentals announced on Friday it would add approximately 1,000 additional locations in the world by 2022. The company’s plans include a particular emphasis on suburbia due to increased demand for the hybrid model of work in a post pandemic setting.
This London-listed firm’s decision is at a moment when landlords are gradually recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic. Businesses have begun to shift towards a permanent hybrid model, where employees work in both office and home.
Mark Dixon, chief executive officer of MIPIM said that the shift from fixed workspace to flexibility is irreversible. He also stated that the company will add a thousand new locations to its business in the coming year.
Spaces and Regus brand owners have around 3500 buildings located in over 120 countries. 83% of Fortune 500 businesses are among their global customers. IWG did not report net additions of centres in the last year. This also includes closures, if any.
Customers of IWG have access to IWG’s extensive network of locations. There are many plans that clients can choose from. This gives employees flexibility in terms geographical terms.
The Switzerland-headquartered firm earlier this month said it would merge its digital assets with flexible workspace platform The Instant Group as office space providers benefit from the hybrid work trend.
