Winamp Media Player Releases NFT Project for Musicians

Winamp, a Microsoft MP3 player for Microsoft Windows (NASDAQ: Windows) was developed in 1997. It is widely used even before the end of audio-visual media. This spring, Winamp’s team is embracing the novelties of Web 3.0 and opening a foundation to support music creators.

The music company will first auction off its Winamp skin, which is iconic and original. It will be available for bidding from May 16 through May 22. Winamp will also sell 20 Winamp skin-derived NFTs artworks (0.08ETH) on the following day. This one-of-a-time collection will have 1997 art pieces (19*100 and 1*97).

Winamp has pledged that it will donate all proceeds to music-related charities.

This project is designed to empower musicians, and give them control over music usage and rights. Winamp believes music can only thrive and benefit society if it empowers musicians.

Winamp invites artists to submit their work until April 15.
