VW recalls 246,000 Atlas SUVs due to issue with airbags, brakes

Another problem could arise from the wiring issues, which can lead to the vehicles’ windows moving down by themselves and the electronic brake engaging at low speeds.
The company doesn’t have an immediate solution, but Volkswagen promises a reimbursement program to vehicles that were recalled.
It covers both the 2019 through 2023 Volkswagen Atlas and the 2020 through 2023 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport.
Volkswagen will send owners and dealers notices by mail, on May 10, 2022, about vehicles that are affected. If a fix is available, the company will reach out to owners again so they can take their SUVs in for repairs.
Owners may check with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to verify if their cars have been included in this recall.
