The benefits of the metaverse for teachers and students is evident, but there are downsides.

Although virtual reality classrooms look great on paper, they have their downsides. Children with vision and hearing impairments, for example, might need accommodations that they are not able to get. If a hearing-impaired child from China wants to attend a metaverse class hosted by an American school, it’s unlikely that the American school would be willing or able to cater to the student.
