Tesla has not responded to an email asking for comments.
Witnesses said that the off-duty taxi driver drove his Tesla through metal posts and rows of bicycles, as well as a glass recycling bin, and hit pedestrians before coming to an abrupt halt.
Unnamed taxi driver told police that after the accident, the vehicle had been accelerating on its own. He was also unable to engage the brakes.
Saldmann refused to answer questions about whether the complaint was made on the basis still unpublished preliminary conclusions of investigators.
Three people died and 17 were injured after the accident that occurred on the French capital’s 13th district. The incident happened along with the death of the victim.
Although the taxi driver has been under investigation for manslaughter, he was not charged. After the accident, he failed an alcohol test.
In Versailles, the public prosecutor will determine if Tesla is guilty.
