REUTERS/Konstantin Chernichkin/IllustrationWARSAW, (Reuters) – The agreement between Poland’s Central Bank and the National Bank of Ukraine allows every adult Ukrainian refugee convert 10,000 hryvnias ($341.88) into Polish zloty beginning March 25.
The bank stated in a statement that the exchange would be possible at an official, rounded… exchange rate.
The bank announced last week that it is cooperating with PKO BP (NYSE : ), the largest lender in the country, to enable refugees fleeing Ukraine to Poland to exchange hryvnia.
It is difficult for many refugees to afford basic necessities, as their savings in hryvnia can’t be exchanged across Europe.
