Sony Interactive to Acquire Haven Entertainment -Breaking

Investing.com — Sony Interactive Entertainment (NYSE. announced today that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Haven Entertainment.

Sony stock fell 1.7% Monday

Playstation Studios has now welcomed its first Canadian-based team of game developers to develop a brand new AAA multiplayer game. Haven is the 18th studio that will join Playstation.

Jade Raymond founded Haven, a Montreal-based studio for development. Redmond is also the founder of Ubisoft Toronto, and Motive Studios. Redmond was said to have been one the “creative force” behind the Assassin’s Creed video game series.

Haven was founded in 2021. It has been involved with some of the biggest games. This company will be working on a live experience for PlayStation that is based upon an evolving and systemic world.

Jim Ryan (President and CEO, Sony Interactive Entertainment) stated, “Haven Studios” is an innovative studio that has an outstanding team of talent. He added, “We’re thrilled to welcome them into PlayStation Canada as our first game-development studio in Canada.”

 “The studio’s focus on creating an original AAA multiplayer game will not only flex the power of PlayStation 5 but will further expand upon the diverse catalog of gaming experiences that can only be found on PlayStation.” 

Sony announced that Haven will be managed in close cooperation with Playstation. 

There was no disclosure of transaction terms.
