(Reuters] – Two tornadoes raked through North and Central Texas Monday. They destroyed homes and businesses, cut off power, and injured at least a few people.

Round Rock was hit with multiple tornadoes that left many homes damaged or in ruins. Round Rock is home to around 120,000 people, about 20 miles west of Austin. Officials confirmed the damage.

“We could see the funnel on the south-side of Round Rock,” said Police Chief Allen Banks at an evening news conference.

According to Banks, buildings around the city suffered severe structural damage but no injuries were reported. He also said the twister created a gas leak which was stopped by subsequent repairs.

According to local NBC, a family of three was rescued from their house in Bowie, Texas. It is about 90 miles north of Dallas. One woman had to be admitted.

NBC 5 reports that multiple other structures in Bowie and the surrounding area were destroyed, with one of them being a gas station off Highway 59 to its south. No immediate reports were made of any fires or leaks at the plant.

The station reported that a tornado could have also affected a Jacksboro school. It is 35 miles from Bowie. Although the roof collapsed at the gym, no injuries were reported.

According to the National Weather Service, strong winds and hail could be a result of the tornado system that created the twisters. This storm system is expected to bring more tornadoes into Texas and Oklahoma Tuesday.

According to the weather service, flooding was also possible in Southern states like Lousiana or Mississippi.
