BARCELONA (Reuters). Volkswagen (DE:), Spain’s proposed battery cell plant, will be in Sagunto on the outskirts Valencia. It will employ around 3,000 people and produce 40 gigawatt hours per year, according to the automaker.

In its quest to make electric cars more popular, the German Group has created six massive battery factories in Europe and partnered with others by the year 2010.
