HYDERABAD (Reuters India) – Airbus SE(OTC:) stated on Thursday that it expected Indian airlines to place 2,210 aircraft in the next twenty years. This represents about 6% of European manufacturers’ projected global delivery over this period.

McBratney said that the world’s biggest civil planemaker will deliver 1,770 narrow-body aircrafts like its A320. Wide-body planes make up most of India’s market.

According to him, the growth of Indian narrow-body airplanes has led to a rise in long-haul flights. Airbus, in November, stated that the market will see 39,020 deliveries of jetliners over the next 20-years, a small decrease from the 39,213 predicted two years back.
