BYD says partners up with Shell for ventures in China, Europe -Breaking

SHANGHAI, (Reuters) – BYD (Chinese electric vehicle maker) announced on Thursday that it had signed a strategic cooperation arrangement with Shell (LON.) which will allow the two companies to collaborate on projects in China and Europe.

BYD stated on WeChat, that Shell and it will form a Mobility Service Provider Partnership in Europe. Shell would provide membership services to BYD customers who are connected through its charging network. The two companies would collaborate on developing charging services and fleet solutions, the company added.

BYD announced that they would form a joint venture with the Chinese companies to create an electric vehicle charging network. It stated that the network will begin by operating over 10,000 EV charging stations in Shenzhen with plans to expand into other cities.

Financial details were not revealed by the company.
