LONDON, (Reuters) – Britain has frozen assets from Russia’s Gazprombank, Alfa Bank and state-run shipping company Sovcomflot in the latest round of sanctions it announced Thursday.

The sanctions list that has been used since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine includes 59 people and entities.

Gazprombank has been one of the most important channels to pay for Russian oil or gas.

Alfa-Bank, Russia’s most prominent private lender, is controlled by Mikhail Fridman and his associates.

Among the individuals sanctioned were oil tycoon Evgeny Shvidler, founder of Tinkoff bank Oleg Tinkov and German Gref, the CEO of Russia’s largest bank Sberbank, the Foreign office said.

Britain said it was also targeting Polina Kovaleva, who it said was the stepdaughter of Russia’s foreign minister Sergei Lavrov. The government said she reportedly owns a 4 million pound property in London.

“Putin should be under no illusions – we are united with our allies and will keep tightening the screw on the Russian economy to help ensure he fails in Ukraine,” Foreign Secretary Liz truss said. “There will be no let-up”.

Russian Railways was also sanctioned, as well as Kronshtadt defence company, which is the largest producer of Russian drones. Sanctions were also imposed on private contractor Wagner Group, a military contractor.
