EU strikes gas deal with the U.S. as it seeks to cut its reliance on Russia

The United States has stated that it will collaborate with international partners to deliver at least 15 million cubic meters more liquid natural gas to Europe in the coming year.
U.S. President Joe Biden announced that the European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen had created a task force in order to decrease the dependence of the bloc on Russian fossil fuels, as the Kremlin continues its war against Ukraine.
This comes as a result of growing concern about how energy-importing nations continue to increase President Vladimir Putin’s war chest by generating oil and gas revenue every day.
