Green Century Capital Management’s president, Leslie Samuelrich, stated that ending use of gestation containers, like Icahn urged, would also have benefits, such as reducing pollution-producing factory farms.

Samuelrich spoke out in an interview to Reuters Thursday, saying that although they think the company is strong, it has some shortcomings regarding reputational risks and governance.

She stated that she had discussed her concerns with three McDonald’s executives this week and that the company hopes to make her a candidate for its board of directors later in spring.

McDonald’s declined to comment.
