U.S. to sell more LNG to Europe to help it cut dependence on Russia

BRUSSELS, (Reuters) – The United States will provide more liquid (LNG), to the European Union in order to reduce Russia’s dependence on it for gas supplies. This was announced by President Joe Biden on Friday.

Biden released a statement saying that they had reached an agreement on a game plan to achieve the goal and accelerate progress towards a secure, clean energy future.

He stated that the initiative “focuses on two key issues: one, helping Europe reduce its dependence on Russian gas as fast as possible, and, second, decreasing Europe’s overall demand for gas.”
