Investing.com — U.S. stocks opened higher Friday following a U.S.-European Union deal which will significantly increase U.S. liquefied exports to Europe

The deal, on the one side, will allow Europe to cut its Russian energy purchases, increasing economic pressure upon Vladimir Putin’s government. It seems that the deal signals that the two sides are prepared to wage a prolonged and destructive hybrid war against one another that could have a negative impact on global economic growth in the future. Ukraine’s government repeated its rejection of Russia’s requests for Ukraine to recognise Russia’s annexation Crimea and breakaway statelets in eastern Ukraine that were established in 2014.

It appears that the deal will make a significant breakthrough in the fight for European gas markets, which had been dominated by Russia and America since the shale boom and the launch the Nord Stream pipeline. Cheniere Energy (NYSE : ), America’s largest pure-play LNG company, reached a new record 2.9%. The stock is up 46% this year.

These indices have seen gains for the second week straight, more than reversing all losses from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine one month ago. This puts the at the lowest level since July 2020. earlier this week, the weekly report showed a second monthly decline.

Also, the index fell more than anticipated to an eleven-year low. This was overshadowed last year’s fading stimulus effects and record gasoline prices.

Aside from China, investors used the rise in Chinese ADRs as a way to get out of positions which could be affected by U.S. delisting regulations.
