U.S. FAA safety official to be named acting administrator

WASHINGTON (Reuters] – Sources tell Reuters that Biden’s administration will name the Federal Aviation Administration’s safety chief (FAA) as its acting leader.

In December, Billy Nolen was appointed the FAA’s Associate Administrator for Aviation Safety. He had been previously vice president of safety, security, and quality at WestJet Airlines, Canada. He will succeed Steve Dickson as FAA Administrator, and he will be renominated by the White House to become a permanent replacement. The White House will make a formal announcement on Saturday.
