ZURICH, Reuters – Zurich Insurance took its Z logo off social media. The letter was used as a symbol of Russian support for Moscow’s invasion Ukraine.

According to the company, the logo (a white Z with a blue background) was being removed because the company did not wish to be mistakenly interpreted as supporting Russia during the conflict.

The company stated to Reuters that it was temporarily removing the letter Z’ from all social media channels, as this could lead to misinterpretation.

The company responded to a report in The Telegraph, an English newspaper.

Russians supported the war adopted Z as their symbol, using it prominently on flags and at proKremlin rallies.

Moscow described the actions it took in Ukraine as “special military operations.”

Zurich Insurance announced earlier this month it will no longer accept new Russian customers and will cease renewing existing business.
