President Joe BidenIn his second year as President, his job approval rating continues to decline. A new NBC News survey shows that only 40% of Americans are satisfied with the work he’s doing.

This is Biden’s lowest rating during his presidency.

The poll revealed that Biden’s 3 percentage point drop in approval of job offers since January is due to the fact that a majority of Americans still believe the United States has gone in the wrong direction.

Seventy-one percent of the respondents said that the United States is on the “wrong track”. It is just a fraction of the percentage who answered the poll in January.

“What this survey says is that President Biden’s and Democrats are headed towards a catastrophe election,” Republican pollster Bill McInturff from Public Opinions Strategy told NBC News. He conducted the poll with Democratic pollster Jeff Horwitt, Hart Research Associates.

In the poll, 1000 adults were interviewed, of which 790 were registered voters. The survey was conducted over four days. There is a 3.1% margin of error among all the respondents.

As a rule, the political party of the incumbent presidents sees a decrease in seats in the House of Representatives and Senate during midterm elections. In the November 2022 election, all 435 House seats will be at stake. 35 Senate seats could also be at risk.

A narrow 12 vote majority is held by Democrats in the House.

Only the tie-breaking vote of Vice President Kamala Harris, who is able to tip the scales in Democrats’ favor, can ensure that Democrats hold the Senate. The 48 Democrats as well as the independent senators they caucus alongside vote together against all 50 GOP senators.
