MEXICO CITY, (Reuters) – Carrier Air Canada has signed an agreement with Mexico’s Aeromar to market jointly routes through Mexico. The airlines made the announcement in a Tuesday statement.

Air Canada already has seven destinations for tourists in Mexico. The regional carrier will enable travelers to connect with 11 cities in Mexico through this new airline.

Canada’s flag carrier will be able to fly to Mexico at levels that are higher than pre-pandemic. The airline announced plans to provide more than 100 flights by winter.

Air Canada Executive Mark Galardo stated in the statement that “this agreement will advance our strategy for strengthening our major Canadian hubs and connecting traffic.”

Air Canada, which has 26 aircraft added to its fleet last week due to increased travel demand from Canada in the recent months, announced that it will add 26 more.

Flyers (NYSE 🙂 can now purchase Aeromar and Air Canada tickets together, although the companies stated that they remain open to a code sharing agreement. Aeromar tickets may be eligible for Air Canada’s frequent flyer program.
