ATHENS (Reuters), – The Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Beitakis declared Tuesday that regaining investment quality status by 2023, despite economic problems, is “a realistic target”.

Mitsotakis stated that Greece is the most indebted member of the Euro Zone and must cut its debt to achieve small but substantial primary surpluses.

Although Greece’s economic situation will be affected slightly by the current energy crisis, which has gotten worse due to the conflict in Ukraine, growth will continue as normal and tourism will not take a huge hit.

He reiterated his desire to finish his four-year term and said that an election would be held at the “end of spring 2023.” In July 2019, Mitsotakis was elected as the prime minister of Greece.
