Investing.com – U.S. stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

The index rose 0.97% at the close of NYSE. It also reached a new one-month high. Meanwhile, it gained 1.23% and 1.84%.

The worst performers were Mosaic Co (NYSE:) which was down 5.18% to 64.45 in late trade, CF Industries Holdings Inc (NYSE:) which lost 5.08% to settle at 99.78 and Archer-Daniels-Midland Company (NYSE:) which was down 4.88% to 87.84 at the close.

These were the top performers in the NASDAQ Composite IGM Biosciences Inc (NASDAQ) which rose 96.73% up to 29.49 PhaseBio Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ :), which rose 46.09% to settle in 1.68, and China SXT Pharmaceuticals Inc [NASDAQ :] which gained 45.40% until it closed at 0.29.
