Chris Rock has not yet publicly addressed being slapped by Will Smith during the 94th annual Academy Awards ceremonyOn Sunday. There is a chance Wednesday night could see a change in the mood of fans.

Rock will perform at Boston’s Wilbur Theatre, with two shows in succession, as per media reports. Second-market tickets sales have soared due to the excitement, according to resell sites and media reports.

StubHub is an online ticket exchange that also resells tickets. told the Hollywood ReporterIt saw 25x daily Rock shows sales in the days after the Oscar incident. This was more than total March sales.

“At this stage in his tour, on an average day, we’d expect to see a spike in sales in the 24 or 48 hours prior to a show date as last-minute sales roll in – but it is incredibly unusual to see the spike we have experienced,” Mike Silveira, spokesperson for StubHub told The Hollywood Reporter.

StubHub sells more than one dozen tickets for Rock’s Wednesday concerts, with ticket prices starting at $444 and ending at $1,705. To be sure, those are just asking prices — it’s unclear if anyone will purchase seats at those levels.

Social media users reported that ticket prices rose from $40 before the incident up to triple-digits after it.

CNBC reached out to StubHub representatives for clarification but they did not respond immediately.

TickPick, a ticket marketplace, said Monday that it had sold more Rock tickets overnight following the slap than in all of the previous months combined.

TickPick offers three tickets at the 7:30 time and four tickets at the 10:00. The prices range between $800 and $1,100 for each.

According to Ticketmaster, the 7:30 PM and 10:00 PM shows are both sold out. Vivid seats currently offers four tickets to the 10:00 show for $668 and $966, respectively.
