FedEx to test autonomous drone cargo deliveries next year -Breaking

(Reuters) – FedEx Corp. (NYSE:) will test Elroy Air’s autonomous air cargo system Chaparral next year through its subsidiary FedEx Express.

Aviation legacy and players in the automotive industry, including Boeing (NYSE :), Embraer Airbus, Airbus, United Airlines Toyota Motor Corp (NYSE:) and Stellantis both invest money in electric vertical takeoff-and landing (eVTOL) planes.

California Bay Area-based Elroy Air’s Chaparral, which was launched in January and can transport cargo 300 to 500 pounds. The aircraft can also be used to deliver the cargo by air up 300 miles.
