Nokia says has launched legal challenge to 5G exclusion in Romania -Breaking

STOCKHOLM, (Reuters) – Finnish network equipment manufacturer Nokia (NYSE:), announced Thursday that it was challenging a Romanian government decision to ban it from selling 5G technology.

The United States backed legislation that barred Huawei from participating in the 5G network development was approved by Romania’s central government last year.

Nokia released a statement saying that it could confirm in February that they were told that 5G infrastructure equipment had not been authorized for Romanian use.

We are urgently seeking clarification on the causes of this decision, and we have initiated legal proceedings.”

Nokia didn’t provide any additional details.

Un rep for the Romanian government could not be reached immediately to comment.
