Samsung Partners with Nifty Gateway to Launch the World’s First NFT Compatible Smart TVs

Samsung (KS) announced that it has partnered with Nifty Gateway, an NFC platform controlled by Gemini to create the first smart TV NFT platform.

Samsung to Launch the World’s First NFT Compatible TVs

Samsung teased NFT TVs in January. In February, it launched its flagship smartphone, Samsung Galaxy S22 in the metaverse.

Samsung Electronics (OTC) announced that it has partnered with Nifty Gateway to incorporate a NFT marketplace in its line of premium smart QLED TVs and Neo QLED televisions.

Nifty Gateway will develop an app for their Samsung TVs that allows users to search and buy non-fungible tokens.

Samsung TVs will allow users to purchase, sell, or hold NFTs. Users will also be able to use the platform to purchase digital art via crypto or debit cards.

Users will have access to over 6,000 pieces digital art from Pak, Daniel Arsham and other artists, according to the announcement.

Nifty Gateway will verify each NFT that is minted via the platform in order to guarantee users receive high quality content. The Nifty Gateway Omnibus Wallet allows collectors to keep their digital artworks safe and secure.

The Flipside

  • Experts warn that many collections are likely to fail in the future as collectors shift their focus from digital art’s value towards making profits.

What You Need to Care About
