Friday’s federal judge denied Ghislaine Maxwell a fresh trial. She had claimed that her conviction in the case of Jeffrey Epstein sexually abusing underage girls was clouded by the absence of a jury member who didn’t disclose that he had been sexually molested.

Judge Alison Nathan stated in her ruling Maxwell’s lawyers failed to meet the conditions for granting a second trial in criminal cases.

Nathan said that Maxwell was a juror who had “skimmed over too fast” during Maxwell’s trial. The questionnaire asked potential jurors whether they have been victims of sexual abuse.
