(Reuters) – Meta, the Facebook owner, has stopped requiring that employees have COVID-19 boosters in order to access its American offices. A spokesperson for Meta said Friday.

While the social media firm previously indicated that employees returning to work would be required to produce proof of booster shots, the company was monitoring the Omicron variant.

We updated our requirements to conform with CDC guidance in March. COVID-19 boosters no longer are required for entry. However, they are strongly advised. Tracy Clayton, Meta spokesperson, stated that the primary vaccination requirement (1 or 2-shot series of vaccines) is still in effect.
