REUTERS/Marco BelloWASHINGTON (Reuters] – U.S. president Joe Biden on Tuesday announced that Admiral Linda Fagan has been nominated to head the U.S. Coast Guard. She will also become the first female uniformed chief of a U.S. armed forces branch.
Biden tweeted that “Her leadership, integrity and are unsurpassed” to announce the nomination.
The Senate must confirm Fagan’s appointment as Vice Commandant Coast Guard.
Her replacement would be Admiral Karl Schultz who served as Commandant from 2018 to 2018.
