Carnival Corp. reports record week of bookings, shares rise -Breaking

This is a sign that leisure travel has begun to recover after a lengthy pandemic-led hiatus.
Carnival shares rose nearly 4% during afternoon trading on the news. On the New York Stock Exchange, shares of Carnival rose more than 8% in afternoon trading. Rival stocks also benefited from the news earlier Royal Caribbean (NYSE) Group and Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings
Carnival announced in a release that their week-end bookings increased by a whopping double-digit percentage from the 7-day record.
Two years ago, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention had issued a COVID-19 Notice against Cruise Travel. This was approximately two years after introducing a warning system that showed how coronavirus transmission risks on cruise ships.
Carnival, based in Miami, said that 22 of 23 of its ships are back in service at U.S. ports.
According to cruise operators, the agency discriminates against the industry. However, hotels and airlines can operate without restrictions.
Carnival already changed its routes to avoid Russian ports during the Ukraine conflict and will withdraw from all halts in Russia for the rest of the year.
