European Commission opens new consultation on digital euro -Breaking
European Commission invites financial service specialists to participate in the discussion about the possible introduction of a digital currency.
In a Tuesday notice, the European Commission’s Directorate‑General for Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union The commission would conduct an evaluation of the digital currency central bank based upon the impact expected on retail customers, financial service providers, and chambers. It will seek industry experts to discuss issues related to the digital euro, including privacy and the effect on the financial system and financial stability. Use cases are also included, as well as Anti-Money Laundering rules and Combating the Finance of Terrorism rules.
