(Reuters) -Minneapolis prosecutors announced Wednesday that they would not indict a Minneapolis police officer for fatally shooting Amir Locke (22) during a raid on no-knock homes in February.

This report does not provide any explanation as to why the Minneapolis SWAT officer who shot the fatal shot was not charged.

Locke was shot to death by police on February 2, after they obtained a warrant for no-knock search of the apartment in a homicide investigation. He wasn’t the subject of the warrant. The warrant did not include Locke.

There were calls from politicians for the banning of no-knock warrants. The incident prompted Mayor Jacob Frey’s decision to suspend this practice. Some states want to amend legislation that would limit them.
