ZURICH, (Reuters) – UBS shareholders voted Wednesday to approve the bank’s climate roadmap. This was after it had faced resistance from investors and campaigners who felt that it wasn’t going far enough.
All in all, 77.74% shareholder votes supported Switzerland’s largest bank’s proposal on climate change. It set interim goals to move towards net zero emission by 2050.
It was among the lowest-approval rates for any proposal made to shareholders at the bank’s annual general meetings.
