According to the Labor Department, last Thursday’s report showed that labor markets tightened even more. Initial jobless claims fell to their lowest point in over 53 years.

Initial unemployment filings fell to 166,000. This is well below the Dow Jones estimation of 200,000 and 5,000 respectively.
