Investing.com – U.S. stocks were mixed after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher while losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

The index gained 0.40% and fell 0.27% at closing in NYSE. It lost 1.34% after the close.

Meanwhile, Goldman Sachs Group Inc (NYSE:) added 2.30% or 7.24 points to end at 321.39 and JPMorgan Chase & Co (NYSE:) was up 1.83% or 2.40 points to 133.49 in late trade.

These were the worst performers of the session. Boeing Co (NYSE:) fell 1.56%, or 2.77 point to close at 175.20. Salesforce.com Inc. (NYSE:), fell 1.59% or 2.99 points to finish at 197.17, while Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ.:) lost 1.46% (or 4.40) to 296.97.

The top performers on the S&P 500 were EPAM Systems Inc (NYSE:) which rose 10.13% to 308.69, Coterra Energy Inc (NYSE:) which was up 7.32% to settle at 28.75 and Occidental Petroleum Corporation (NYSE:) which gained 7.14% to close at 61.80.

These were the worst performers Enphase Energy Inc (NASDAQ.) The stock was down 5.7% to 195.14 during late trade Monolithic Power Systems Inc (NASDAQ) lost 5.67% and settled at 411.59, while NVIDIA Corporation was at 231.19.

Phio Pharmaceuticals Corp. (NASDAQ:), which rose 159.18% up to 2.35, and Medavail Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:), which rose 39.01% to settle in at 1.96. Bicycle Therapeutics Ltd (NASDAQ) which saw a 24.54% increase to reach 46.99

These were the worst performers Kaleido Biosciences Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 81.76% to 0.27 in late trade, Genocea Biosciences Inc (NASDAQ:) which lost 69.23% to settle at 0.40 and C4 Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 50.57% to 11.32 at the close.

On the New York Stock Exchange, falling stocks outnumbered those that advanced by 1685-1488, and 114 ended unchanged.

Occidental Petroleum Corporation shares (NYSE:), rose to 52 week highs, up 7.14% (4.12 to 61.80). Kaleido Biosciences Incorporated (NASDAQ:), shares fell 81.76%, or 1.21 to 0.27 to their lowest level in over a decade. Genocea Biosciences Inc’s shares fell to their lowest point, dropping 69.23% (or 0.90 to 0.40). Shares in C4 Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; losing 50.57% or 11.58 to 11.32.

The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P 500 options, was down 1.81% to 21.16.

The June delivery of Gold Futures was up 0.3% or 6.70, to $1.944.50 per troy ounce. In commodities trading, crude oil for May delivery rose 2.3%, or 2.05, to $98.08 per barrel. The June Brent oil contract rose 2.13 or 2.14, to $102.72 per barrel.

EUR/USD was stable at 1.09, but USD/JPY rose by 0.32% to 123.22.

At 99.82, the US Dollar Index Futures rose 0.06%.
