Ukraine calls for more sanctions, weapons to stop Russia’s ‘catastrophe’ -Breaking

KYIV (Reuters). President Volodymyr Zeleskiy stated that Russia’s aggression is not limited to Ukraine. He urged the West, in an appeal to him, to impose a total embargo on Russian energy and weapons supplies.
The Ukraine stated that it is ready to fight Russian troops in the east. According to the Ukrainian military, Russia wants to create a land corridor between Crimea (which it annexed in 2014) and eastern Donbas, which are held partly by Moscow-backed separatists.
In a late Saturday address, Zelenskiy stated that Russia’s use force would “inevitably strike everyone.”
He stated that Russia’s aggression wasn’t meant to be restricted to Ukraine only. The entire European project was a target for Russia.
Russia has not taken any city major since Feb. 24, and it has now retreated near Kyiv, and is instead building its forces to the east.
Zelenskiy declared that Russia could still live in illusions, and would bring new military force and equipment to its land.
“And this means that we require even more sanctions as well as more weapons for the state.”
Heavy shelling has left some cities of the east unable to flee, with thousands of residents trapped.
We believe that this will be a difficult battle. Zelenskiy declared that we are willing to both fight and seek diplomatic means to stop this war.
Mykhailo Podolyak a Ukrainian negotiator stated that Vladimir Putin and Zelenskiy wouldn’t meet until Russia has been defeated in East.
Boris Johnson (British Prime Minister) met Zelenskiy on Saturday in Kyiv and offered to provide support for World Bank loan applications and additional armoured vehicle and anti-ship weapons systems as well.
Britain will increase sanctions on Russia, and abandon Russian hydrocarbons.
Zelenskiy stated that other democratic Western countries should emulate Great Britain’s example when he spoke to reporters alongside Johnson.
It’s high time for Russia to be banned completely from energy supply and to increase weapons delivery to the United States.
Johnson explained that Ukraine’s support was intended to guarantee it would not be bullied, blackmailed, or threatened in any other way.
Johnson, a foreign leader visiting Kyiv following the Russian withdrawal from the area was Johnson.
These visits indicate that Kyiv has returned to some level of normalcy.
Many residents have returned to their homes and many cafes and restaurants have reopened. Italy stated that it would reopen its Embassy this month.
‘NEVER FORGET’
However, officials in Ukraine’s east have asked civilians to leave after Friday’s attack by missiles on a train station packed full of elderly and children.
Officials in Ukraine claimed that more than 50 people died in the Donetsk strike, in which thousands had been trying to flee.
Russia denied any responsibility for the attack, claiming that missiles were not used by the Ukrainian military. United States claims that Russian forces were responsible.
Reuters couldn’t verify the exact details of this attack.
Russia has invaded Ukraine, killing or injuring thousands of people and forcing around a quarter of the 44 million Ukrainians to flee their homes.
Oleksander Honcharenko (Kramatorsk mayor) stated that only between 50,000 and 60,000 residents of Kramatorsk, which has a population of 222,000 people, would remain.
Ukraine reported that 4,532 people had been evacuated from their cities Saturday, a decrease of 6,665 on the previous day.
International condemnation of civilian casualties has been sparked by the hundreds of deaths at Bucha (a city to the northwest from Kyiv) that was held hostage until last week.
Bohdan Zubchuk was a local community officer. He said, “We won’t forget anything we saw here. This will remain with us for all our lives.”
British military intelligence stated that Russia’s withdrawal from the Capital Region revealed “disproportionate” civilian targeting.
Russia denied that civilians were targeted in a “special” operation it called to demilitarize its southern neighbor and “denazify”. The West has dismissed the claim as an unfounded pretext for war by Ukraine and other Western countries.
On Friday, the European Union adopted new sanctions to Russia. These included bans on imports of chemicals, coal and wood products. Russia continues to import oil and gas from the EU.
Ukraine banned Saturday all Russian imports, which were important trading partners prior to the conflict with an annual value of $6 billion.
Yulia Yulia Syrydenko, Economy Minister wrote that the enemy will not get these funds which would reduce their potential to finance war.
