WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – The U.S. President Biden met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss Ukraine’s issues, which included Russia’s energy purchase from India, in a virtual meeting Monday. However, he did not “concretely ask” for any of the topics, a top U.S. government official stated.
The official stated that India would make all the decisions. However, the United States feels India shouldn’t increase its energy imports from Russia following the invasion of Ukraine and subsequent war. According to the official, they had an honest and productive hour-long conversation.
