DAO Regulation in Australia: Part 2: Problems and Solutions

Australia wants to regulate autonomous decentralized organizations (DAO). Oleksii Konashevych, a three-parter series author discusses possible solutions and the dangers of stifling DAOs’s growth.

First, registration is required to regulate a decentralized autonomous organisation (DAO). However, who can remember why this registry is necessary? Who will question the need for registration of a DAO based on blockchain?

Oleksii KonashevychHe holds a PhD in Law, Science, and Technology and serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Institute for Digital Transformation. He presented an idea for a new type of property registry that is based on blockchain technology in his academic research. The idea of title tokens was presented by him and supported with technical protocols that allow for digital authorities and smart laws to provide full-featured legal oversight of digitized property right. A cross-chain protocol allowing multiple ledgers to be used for a blockchain estate register was also created by him. He presented it to the Australian Senate 2021.
