(Reuters) – Two of the richest men in the world are offering their ideas on how to address the problem of homelessness. Twitter Inc (NYSE) Converts its headquarters to a shelter.
Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ:) Jeff Bezos was the founder of Amazon.com Inc. on Sunday. He backed the idea Elon Musk put forward to make the San Francisco headquarters homeless.
Bezos tweeted https://twitter.com/JeffBezos/status/1513251374774972417 an article by technology-focused blog GeekWire from May 2020 about Amazon’s eight-floor family homeless shelter attached to its Seattle headquarters, saying the initiative worked out great and makes it easy for employees who wish to volunteer.
Bezos suggested that at most a part of Twitter headquarters be converted into shelters for homeless people. Musk also agreed to the idea in a tweet and called it “great idea”.
Musk has over 81 million Twitter followers and started a poll asking people to vote for the conversion of the building. Within a matter of hours, more than 1,000,000 votes were cast.
Musk, the chief executive at Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:) Inc), frequently tweets about Tesla and other subjects. This can sometimes leave people wondering if he’s serious. Musk made it clear that he was not making fun of himself. “I’m serious about this one btw,” he tweeted https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1513199588454264832, following up on the topic on Sunday.
A separate poll https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1513045405029711878 by Musk on Sunday asked if “w” should be deleted from Twitter’s name, leaving two voting options, “yes” and “of course.”
Musk proposed a series of modifications to Twitter Blue’s premium subscription service, which included lower prices, banning advertisements, and the possibility to pay with cryptocurrency dogecoin.
