Amazon set its sights last year on increasing workplace safety. a pledge to become “Earth’s Safest Place to Work”The number of injuries suffered at U.S.-based warehouses increased from 2020 to 2021.

Amazon had 38,300 reported injuries at U.S. facilities by 2021. This is an increase of about 20% from the 27,100 injuries recorded in 2020. The report states that the majority of 2021 injuries were serious. This means workers suffered severe injuries, which meant they could not perform regular jobs (light duty) and were forced to leave work completely (lost time).

According to the report, Amazon caused a staggering number of workplace injuries in America. Amazon was responsible for nearly half the injuries to workers in this industry by 2021 and accounted three-quarters of U.S. warehouse workers.
