(Reuters) – U.S. President Joe Biden has pushed for tax credits to support sustainable aviation fuel. This is a crucial part in reducing carbon emissions.

Biden called last year for tax incentives to low-carbon jet fuel made from vegetable oils, as part of the spending package which is currently stalled in Congress. To make the fuel affordable, the White House wants to reduce aviation emissions 20% by 2030.

Biden stated that he had brought together government agencies as well as aircraft manufacturers, airline fuel producers and airports at an Iowa event. He argued the push would lead to “advanced cleaner, more sustainable fuels” for American aviation.
